Privacy Policy

Last updated: 31 July 2026

The short version. LumeServe has no accounts, no servers of ours, and no analytics. Your files are never uploaded. Everything the app stores stays on your own computer, and you can delete it by uninstalling the app.

Information we collect

None. We do not operate any server that LumeServe talks to, so there is nothing for us to collect. We do not ask for an email address, a name, a sign-in, or a payment method. We do not include analytics, advertising or crash-reporting services in the app.

Your files

When you start sharing, LumeServe serves the folder you selected directly from your computer to the other devices on your local network that request it. The files are not copied to us, not copied to any cloud service, and not sent outside your network. We never see them, and neither does anyone else who is not on your network and past your password.

What is stored on your computer

LumeServe keeps a small database in your user folder so it can pick up where you left off:

All of this stays on your machine. None of it is transmitted anywhere. You can clear the access log from inside the app at any time, and uninstalling LumeServe removes the data it stored.

The sharing password

The password you set is used to challenge visitors before they can view or download anything in the shared folder. It is stored locally so the app can restore your setup on the next launch. It is not sent to us and it is not used to encrypt your files. If you forget it, no data is lost — simply set a new one in the app and start the server again.

Network access

LumeServe listens for connections on your local network so your other devices can reach the shared folder. It does not make outbound connections to us or to any third party, and it does not need an internet connection to work. Whether other devices can reach your computer is governed by your own network and by Windows Defender Firewall.

Children

LumeServe is a general-purpose file-sharing utility. It does not collect personal information from anyone, including children.
