The short version. LumeServe is a free tool for sharing your own folder with your own devices on your own network. You are responsible for what you choose to share and with whom. It is provided as is.
Acceptance
By installing or using LumeServe ("the app"), you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.
What the app does
LumeServe makes a folder you select available over your local network so that other devices you control can browse and download from it with a web browser. It runs entirely on your computer. It is not a hosting service, a remote-access service, or a cloud storage service, and we do not operate any service that your files pass through.
Your responsibilities
- You are responsible for choosing which folder to share and for the contents of that folder.
- Share only content you own or have the right to share. Do not use the app to distribute material that infringes someone else's rights or that is unlawful where you are.
- You are responsible for who can reach your network. Anyone on the same network can reach the shared folder unless you set a password or limit sharing to this computer only.
- Use the app only on networks and computers you are authorised to use.
Security and passwords
The optional password is a barrier for casual access on your local network; it protects the share, not the files themselves, and it does not encrypt anything on disk. Traffic between your computer and the other device is not encrypted, so we recommend using the app on networks you trust and setting a password when you are not sure who else is connected. If you forget the password, no data is lost — set a new one in the app and start sharing again.
Availability of shared files
The shared folder is reachable only while the app is running and the server is started. Closing the app or pressing Stop ends sharing at once. The app is not intended for continuous or unattended availability.
Price
The app is distributed free of charge through the Microsoft Store. There is no subscription and no in-app purchase.
Disclaimer of warranty
The app is provided "as is", without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted, error free, or compatible with every device or network configuration.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for any loss of data, arising from your use of the app.
Changes
These terms may be updated from time to time. The current version is always posted on this page with its date. Continued use of the app after a change means you accept the updated terms.
